Howell, NJ: A New Booklet has been Published on the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God

A new booklet has been published on the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God – a publication of the Eastern American Diocese. The booklet is being published with the blessing of Metropolitan Hilarion in connection with the current visitation by this wonder-working icon of the parishes in our diocese. Included in the contents of the book are: a history of the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God, photographs of the historic return of the icon to Russia, and a general akathist to the Most Holy Theotokos. The booklet is being published separately in Russian and English on 40 pages in color. The booklet costs $10.00, not including shipping. Also printed were color copies of the Kursk Root Icon with troparion, kontakion, and a prayer to the Mother of God on the back. The booklets and icons will be sold in parishes being visited by the wonder-working icon, and can also be ordered. After concluding the meeting of the Diocesan Council, His Grace, Bishop George, visited the local print shop with several other members of the Council to inspect the new booklets and icons. Vladyka gave his blessing for the sale of the books and icons.
