Methuen, MA:
Metropolitan Hilarion led the divine services in St. Xenia’s Church
On
Saturday the 25th and Sunday the 26th of September, the First Hierarch
of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of
Eastern America and New York, performed an archpastoral visit to St.
Xenia Church in Methuen, MA.
During
the All-Night Vigil, His Eminence was co-served by Archpriest Spyridon
Schneider (rector of St. John the Russian Church in Ipswich, MA),
parish rector Priest Michael Crowley, Priest Victor Boldewskul (rector
of Holy Epiphany Church in Boston, MA), Priest John Routos,
Protodeacon Alexander Jarostchuk (cleric of Holy Epiphany Church), and
parish Deacon Constantine Desrosiers. The sisterhood treated the
clergy to a delicious meal following the Vigil.
At
the Divine Liturgy, the First Hierarch was co-served by Priest Michael
Crowley, Priest John Routos, Protodeacon Alexander Jarostchuk, and
Deacon Constantine Desrosiers. During the Small Entrance, in
accordance with the resolution of the ROCOR Synod of Bishops,
Metropolitan Hilarion elevated Priest Michael Crowley to the rank of
archpriest. After the Great Entrance, Deacon Constantine was ordained
to the priesthood, and Subdeacon Alexander Doohovskoy was ordained to
the deaconate. The newly ordained clergymen are assigned to St.
Xenia’s Church.
Upon
completion of the Liturgy, the First Hierarch greeted the parish and
the local clergy and expressed his sincere gratitude, particularly for
the many years of humble and devoted service of the newly ordained
Frs. Constantine and Alexander. A festal luncheon was then offered
under canopies on the church grounds.
