Louisville, KY: A Bishop of the Antiochian Church served a Moleben before the Kursk Root Icon

On Tuesday, December 21, His Grace Thomas, Bishop of Charleston, Oakland, and the Mid-Atlantic (Antiochian Archdiocese of America) served a moleben and akathist before the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God in St. Michael’s Antiochian Church in Louisville, KY. His Grace was co-served by parish rector Archpriest Alexis Kouri, Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, and Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell), who were accompanying the icon, and local Antiochian and Greek clergy.

Upon completion of the moleben, Fr. Serge presented the rector with a copy of the Kursk Icon with a commemorative plaque on behalf of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, in memory of the wonder-working icon’s visit to Louisville. Dinner was then served in the parish hall, and a photomontage of the wonderworking icon’s return to Russia in 2009 presented.
