Washington, DC: Archbishop Justinian celebrated the Divine Liturgy
in St. John the Baptist Cathedral
As
reported by the official site of the Patriarchal Parishes in the
USA, on Sunday, November 28, by invitation of cathedral rector
Archpriest Victor Potapov and with the blessing of the First
Hierarch of ROCOR, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern
America and New York, the Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes
in the USA, His Eminence Justinian, Archbishop of Naro-Fominsk,
celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. John the Baptist Cathedral in
Washington, DC.
His Eminence was co-served by cathedral rector Archpriest Victor
Potapov, Igumen Nicodemus (Balyasnikov), Assistant to Archbishop
Justinian, Hieromonk Alexander (Frizzell; cleric of Holy Cross
Monastery), and parish clerics Priest Alexander Resnikoff and
Protodeacon Leonid Mickle.
Upon completion of the Liturgy, Archbishop Justinian addressed the
gathered faithful with a sermon dedicated to the spiritual labors of
St. Paisius Velichkovsky, whose memory the Church was celebrating
that day. His Eminence also congratulated Fr. Victor with his recent
namesday, presenting him with a jeweled cross.
