Washington: Bishop George performed the Rite of Holy Unction in St. John the Baptist Cathedral

 

On Sunday, March 27, His Grace, Eastern American Diocesan vicar Bishop George of Mayfield, celebrated the Divine Liturgy in St. John the Baptist Cathedral in Washington, DC. His Grace was co-served by cathedral rector Archpriest Victor Potapov and cathedral clergy.

 

On Sunday evening, a multitude of parishioners and the faithful gathered in the cathedral to take part in the Sacrament of Holy Unction. Bishop George led the Rite of Unction, co-served by the cathedral clergy. So many people took part in the sacrament, that the service and blessing with holy oil continued for four hours.
