Atlanta, GA: The Kursk Root Icon visited Joy of All Who Sorrow Church

 

On Monday, February 14, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God departed Tennessee for Atlanta, capital of the State of Georgia, and visited the Church of Our Lady "Joy of All Who Sorrow" in Atlanta, GA. Parish rector Archpriest Alexis Duncan led the All-Night Vigil for the Great Feast of the Meeting of our Lord, co-served by parish Deacon Eugene Antonov.

 

During the veneration of the Icon, Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, who was accompanying the Icon, spoke to worshipers about the travels and wonders of the holy Icon then blessed the faithful with small copies of the Kursk Icon on behalf of the First Hierarch of ROCOR, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion.
