Resaca, GA: The Kursk Root Icon visited Holy Ascension Monastery

 

On Tuesday, February 15, on the feast of the Meeting of Our Lord, the Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God visited the Monastery of the Glorious Ascension in Resaca, GA. Monastery abbot Archimandrite Nazarios (Kastner) led a moleben before the wonderworking Icon, co-served by Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, who was accompanying the Icon and Archpriest Steven Ritter (cleric of St. Mary of Egypt Church in Atlanta, GA). Upon completion of the moleben, Fr. Serge spoke to the gathered faithful about the travels and miracles of the Kursk Root Icon, and then presented Fr. Nazarios with a copy of the Icon – a blessing from the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion.
