Boston, MA: Bishop Jerome led the Divine Services in the Church of the Epiphany

On Saturday the 22nd and Sunday the 23rd of January, His Grace Jerome, Bishop of Manhattan, made an archpastoral visit to Holy Epiphany Church in Boston, MA. During the All-Night Vigil, His Grace was co-served by parish rector Priest Victor Boldewskul, parish clerics: Priest Thomas Reske, Protodeacon Alexander Jarostchuk, and Deacon Victor Ganson; and visiting clergymen: Archpriest Spyridon Schneider (rector of the Church of St. John the Russian in Ipwich, MA), Protodeacon Dimitri Temidis (cleric of the Holy Virgin Protection Church in Nyack, NY), Deacon Nicholas Olhovsky (cleric of Holy Trinity Monastery in Jordanville), and Deacon Alexander Doohovskoy (cleric of St. Xenia Orthodox Church in Methuen, MA). For the Divine Liturgy, the above-mentioned clergy were joined by Protodeacon Nicholas Drobot (cleric of the Holy New Martyrs and Confessors of Russia Church in Norwich, CT).

Both services were very festive and the church was full, as is the weekly norm for this parish. With the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, Bishop Jerome elevated Fr. Victor to the rank of archpriest during the Small Entrance. The choir sang harmoniously under the direction of Vladimir P. Roudenko. Bishop Jerome delivered two enriching sermons (one in English and one in Russian) where he noted that while each person has limitations, each person also has talents, as well. All Christians are called to offer these talents to Christ Himself for the service of the Church. After the service, everyone was invited to lunch, which was held at the local Greek Cathedral in Roslindale.

His Grace’s visit came a week after the parish school put on their annual parish yolka. For pictures click here.
