Utica, NY: The Kursk Root Icon visited St. John of Kronstadt Church

On Wednesday, January 26, the wonderworking Kursk Root Icon of the Mother of God visited St. John of Kronstadt Church in Utica, NY. A moleben and akathist were served by Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov, who was accompanying the Icon, parish rector Archpriest Michael Taratuchin, Priest Borislav Kroner (rector of St. Luke Ukrainian Church in Warners, NY), and parish clerics: Priest Kevin Kalish, Protodeacon Joseph Jarostchuk, and Deacon Nicholas Kolasz. Also praying in church was Priest James Guirguis, rector of the local Antiochian Church of St. George. Upon completion of the moleben, Fr. Serge spoke to the gathered faithful on the history, wonders, and travels of the wonderworking icon, and then presented the rector a copy of the Kursk Root Icon with a commemorative plaque on behalf of the First Hierarch of the Russian Church Abroad, His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion. A light dinner was then offered for the faithful and guests in the parish hall.
