On Wednesday, May 18, the Russian Church Abroad marked the third anniversary of the enthronement of her First Hierarch, His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York.

On the Midfeast of Pentecost, the First Hierarch celebrated the Divine Liturgy in the Church of Our Lady the "Inexhaustible Chalice" in Brooklyn, NY, on the occasion of the parish’s patronal feast day. His Eminence was co-served by Archimandrite Ioann (Magramm), Archpriest George Kallaur (rector of the Church of the Mother of God "Unexpected Joy" in Staten Island, NY), Hieromonk Gabriel (Kvasnikov), parish rector Priest Vadim Arefiev, Priest Paul Ivanov (parish cleric), Priest Ilya Gun, Protodeacon Paul Wolkow (cleric of St. Seraphim’s Church in Sea Cliff, NY), and Deacon Petr Utkin (cleric of New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia Church in Brooklyn).

Upon completion of the service, His Eminence Justinian, Archbishop of Naro-Fominsk, Administrator of the Patriarchal Parishes in the USA, arrived to personally congratulate the First Hierarch on behalf of His Holiness, Patriarch Kyrill. After the Liturgy, Metropolitan Hilarion and Archbishop Justinian visited local New York churches: Brooklyn’s St. John the Baptist Church and New Martyrs & Confessors of Russia Church.

That evening, in the First Hierarch’s Synodal residence, Metropolitan met with Eastern American Diocesan secretary Archpriest Serge Lukianov. At the meeting, Fr. Serge greeted His Eminence on behalf of the diocesan clergy and faithful, wishing that the Lord grant him physical and spiritual fortitude unto continued God-inspired leadership of the Church.
