Archbishop Nikon was a significant historical figure in the development of the Church Abroad, spreading the Gospel of Christ far and wide throughout the North American continent.

At the end of the All-Night Vigil, during the Great Doxology, the monks performed a procession with the burial shroud of the Mother of God.
