On Sunday, November 14, with the blessing of His Eminence, Metropolitan Hilarion, His Grace George, Bishop of Mayfield, performed a pilgrimage to the Holy Land as part of a group of pilgrims from the Middle American Diocese. On November 17, His Grace visited the Patriarchal residence and met with His Beatitude Theophilus III, Patriarch of Jerusalem and All Palestine. 

Setauket, NY: The Myrrh-Streaming Icon of St. Anna visited Holy Cross Monastery

On Friday, November 19, Holy Cross Monastery in Setauket, NY, was blessed with the visit of the Myrrh-Streaming Icon of St. Anna. An akathist was served before the icon by the Abbot, Archimandrite Maximos (Weimar), co-served by Hierodeacon Michael. The icon’s guardian, Archimandrite Athanasy (Mastalski; rector of Our Lady, Joy of All Who Sorrow, Church in Philadelphia, PA), gave a stirring sermon about the icon and what it should mean to all of the faithful.

On Sunday, November 14, parishioners marked the 60th anniversary of the founding of St. Nicholas Church in Red Bank, NJ. On Saturday evening, parish rector Archpriest Serge Lukianov led the All-Night Vigil, co-served by parish clergy Priest Jonah Campbell and Deacon Leonid Roschko, as well as Deacon Paul Drozdowski. Before the start of the Vigil, a panihida was served for all of the past rectors, builders, and parishioners of St. Nicholas Church.

The Sunday of the Fathers of the Seventh Ecumenical Council, October 24, 2010 is one that will be long remembered in the lives of the many who gathered at St. Mary of Egypt Church in Roswell, Georgia. On Saturday, November 6, with the blessing of His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York, the myrrh-streaming Hawaiian-Iveron Icon of the Mother of God visited St. George’s Serbian Church in Elizabeth, NJ. The icon was accompanied by its guardian, Reader Nektary Yangston. Before the start of Divine Liturgy, the icon was greeted in procession by the parishioners, led by rector Archpriest Zoran Radovic.

The 13th annual Holy Trinity Monastery Pilgrimage organized by the Cathedral of St. John the Baptist in Washington, DC, was spiritually filled to the brim. On October 30, over 65 pilgrims woke up very early, and at 6:00 AM departed by bus for far-off Jordanvilee. Among the pilgrims was Matushka Julia Sysoyeva, widow of Fr. Daniel Sysoyev, a young Moscow priest and missionary who was murdered one year ago.

On Tuesday the 2nd and Wednesday the 3rd of November, the namesday of His Eminence Hilarion, Metropolitan of Eastern America and New York, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, was celebrated in the Synodal Cathedral of the Sign in New York City. His Eminence was co-served by a multitude of clergy from across the diocese and from other Local Churches , who came to prayerfully congratulate the First Hierarch on his saint’s day.
